Summer To-Do List: Learn how to Scuba Dive!
As we get ready to head into warmer weather, one thing should be on your to-do list for this summer: Learning how to Scuba Dive! In 2022, 2.7 million Americans went scuba diving, a 7.3% growth from 2021, and it’s projected to grow almost another 11% annually through 2030. Reviving from the Covid-19 pandemic, scuba diving is becoming a more popular hobby. In this post, we’ll share with you the steps it takes to become a certified Scubadiver with Scubadelphia.
Learning what level of Diver you are
The first step with learning any new skill is figuring out what level of training you will want. At Scubadelphia, we offer a wide range of training packages [<-add training link] that will fit any type of diving experience. But first, you’ll have to figure out what diver you want to be: Surface Diver or Deep Water Diver.
Open Water Diver
Open water diving is the most common casual diving experience. It’s the safest and easiest way to learn and experience all the amazing things diving has to offer. Openwater diving allows new divers to learn the basics of diving while still getting to explore reefs, shipwrecks, capture photos, and see various types of fish. Worried about the tank running out of air? Shallower openwater dives use less air than deep dives, allowing for longer, more enjoyable dives longer that minimize risk. If you are looking for a hobby that’ll provide breathtaking experiences, new friends, and doesn’t break the bank account, surface diving is perfect for you.
Technical Diver
Technical diving, also referred to as deep water diving, takes the diving experience to the next level. Going beyond the 130-foot threshold, deep water diving opens you to another world under the sea. You can join the few that are able to share the experiences of diving a shipwreck or seeing deep water fish up close with your own eyes. Due to the high level of risk associated with deep water diving, you will require additional training to develop your diving skills to be prepared for all that can happen during a dive. Scubadelphia has training packages and classes catered to divers who are seeking to become a certified tec divers.
